This concept for an experimental website was inspired by alien conspiracy pages — many of which not updated since the 2000s — and in-person interviews about common fears and fascinations surrounding aliens. The Society of Alien Abductees site is a space for people to share their stories and build a community, but it is hacked and destroyed by secretive extraterrestrials. As the viewer clicks through the pages they are confused by bizarre pop-ups urging them to leave and tricking them into sharing their location to be “collected.” Eventually the site is completely deconstructed by the aliens, playing on people’s fears of not having control.
